Heart of America Community AIDS Partnership

United Way, along with the Hallmark Corporation Foundation, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and the AIDS Council formed the Heart of America Community AIDS Partnership in 1990. Through this collaboration, more than 25 local and national private funders have pooled their resources with United Way to provide more than $3.5 million in grants to aggressively respond to HIV/AIDS in our community.

 

Neighborhood Self Help Fund

The Neighborhood Self Help Fund provides small grants to neighborhood associations throughout Kansas City with an emphasis on those that include a significant number of low to moderate income households. Projects funded promote neighborhood safety, prevent crime, improve the physical condition of the neighborhoods and develop neighborhood leaders. The program is led by an advisory board of representatives from area foundations and banking institutions that support the fund and is staffed by United Way of Greater Kansas City.
