FamilyWize Prescription
Discount Card Program
Healthcare costs are one of the top concerns for people in our community and one out of every five people in the United States does not have prescription drug coverage. A new free prescription discount card being distributed by United Way can help make medicine more affordable.
United Way is providing these free FamilyWize Prescription Drug Discount Cards to everyone who needs one. There are no age restrictions, no income restrictions, no limit on how many times you can use the card and no waiting to get the card. Click here to download a printable card.
The FamilyWize Prescription Drug Discount Card enables individuals and families, regardless of income level or insurance coverage, to receive discounted pricing on prescription drugs. This is not insurance. It is a program that offers immediate discounts on prescription drugs at participating pharmacies. This program helps people better afford the medications they need.
How the Card Works
Simply present your card with each prescription from your doctor to the participating pharmacy at the time of purchase to receive your discounts.
If you need to transfer a prescription, bring your empty prescription bottle or label with you to the pharmacy and present your FamilyWize card to receive your discounts.
United Way of Greater Kansas City participants have saved an average of 33% off the pharmacy's usual and customary retail price of prescription drugs, with the highest savings on generic drugs.
Your cost for medication will be the discounted price offered through the FamilyWize program or the pharmacy's usual and customary retail price, whichever is lower. This means you are assured the lowest price in that store, at the time you purchase the medication. If the pharmacy's price is lower, there is not savings or discount.
