United Way is advancing community impact in everything we do to ensure that children, youth and families achieve their full potiental. We are focusing our work around the following outcomes:
Children and youth are prepared for school, achieve academic success and are ready for a productive future. Parents and caring adults support positive, age-appropriate development of children and youth. Families are safe, supportive and free of family violence and abuse.
Community Impact - How We Do It:
- We invest in programs at partner agencies.
- We advance community change strategies.
In January 2010 United Way launched "Quality Matters," an initiative to champion and advance quality out-of-school time opportunities. Participation in quality out-of-school time programs is linked to better school attendance and performace, less disciplinary action and higher educational aspirations.
